First-year students are assigned to a first-year advisor based on their major. The Advisement Center also advises all undeclared students. If you are not a first-year or undeclared student you will be advised by faculty within your major. You can find your faculty advisor on your Access Stout Student Center.


During your first year at UW-Stout, you will work with an advisor from the Advisement Center who will help you: explore interests , abilities, and values as they relate to majors develop the skills needed for academic and professional success create informed academic plans for timely graduation, Your advisor’s name can be found on your Access Stout Student Center page. In the Advisor box on the right hand side of the Student Center page click details. Use the Directory on the UW-Stout homepage or the Program Director Directory to look up contact information for your advisor or program director (i.e. office locations, phone numbers, and e.


Education & Background: I earned my Bachelor of Science in General Science (biology emphasis and psychology minor) and a Master of Arts in Rehabilitation Counseling from The University of Iowa. For the first part of my career, I worked as a rehabilitation counselor. I moved to Wisconsin and started advising freshmen students in the UW – Stout Advisement Center in 2003.


You will receive an email in your UW – Stout email account with a link to access the Canvas course, Transfer Transition. The Transfer Transition Canvas course is required for all new transfer students. Completing the advising and orientation course will provide you with resources and tutorials to enroll and successfully transfer to UW – Stout .
