10/27/2013 · If you have an amp (Alpine premium sound) then you will have a sub woofer system in the back of the jeep mounted on the side or in the floor depending on the year. If you don’t have a factory sub then you won’t have an amp. Now you can install a small after market amp in the factory amp’s place but I wouldn’t bother.
12/30/2014 · The stock amplifier is located directly behind the left speaker enclosure. There is very little room so an aftermarket amp is unlikely to fit. The speaker has to be removed to access the amp. The picture JTB is not correct for a 2013 JK so don’t use it as a guide. A Google search does not show the stock mounting location, say again does not.

The factory Amp in a 2012 JK Wrangler both 2 and 4 door versions and all submodels with premium sound is on the drivers side beneath the steering column. You remove the pop out panel beneath the steering wheel and you will be able to see it.
